A: Pole class attire: Comfortable workout clothing.  In beginning levels, take your pick of shorts or long pants; shorts are required for level 6 and above for pole climbs.   Some find long pants easier to start with for level 1 beginning spins.  The ideal outfit is a pair of shorts or yoga pants and tank top or any other comfortable workout clothing. A pair of high heels is suggested for some of the pole work to make it more fun as you strut your stuff (it is ideal to have a pair of high heels with a strap across the foot/ankle) but feel free to go barefoot the whole time as well.

All other classes: Comfortable work out clothes

Frequently Asked Questions

A: Pole Dance Aerobics:
Pole dance aerobics classes levels 1-4 involve warm up, upper body strengthening, pole spins, floor work and transitions between the floor and the pole that provide a full body workout, and a routine combining all the swings learned at the current level and possibly swings from previous levels. In level 5, the routine is replaced with more core exercises to gain the strength necessary for climbs and inverts in level 6.

Level 1: For beginners that need to build up extra upper body strength and want to start learning simple spins and hand grip control.

Level 2: For beginners that already have some upper body strength and want to start out learning more complex beginning pole spins.

Level 3 and above: For more advanced spinners; involves increasingly complex spins that require more upper body and core strength. Each level builds on previous skills learned as it increases.
